Cashton Galus, 2, helps his grandfather, Fraser Township Supervisor Mark Galus, unearth a shovel of soil during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Bay County Road Commission and its Department of Water and Sewer. They broke ground Thursday, Oct. 3, for the new Bay Area Water Treatment Plant in Kawkawlin Township. The new facility will serve more than 37,000 people in Bay County.
Supervisor Galus said this project was important to the area.
"That's what we're all looking at: better quality water," said Galus.
