Pope Francis, leader of the Roman Catholic Church, visited Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families on Sept. 26 and 27, following stops in Washington, D.C. and New York City. It was the pontiff's first visit to the United States and included several speeches, the Festival of Families, the celebration of Mass and parades. Approximately one million faithful flocked to the city to see the Holy Father.
